1. Quick Keylocking from home screen

Press :alt:+:enter: to keylock your BlackBerry quickly from the home screen. (Alternate keypress is just press K, but this only works if "Dial From Home Screen" is disabled)

2. To set up password protection on your BlackBerry


Select Security from your options menu and set your chosen timeout and then enable or set your password. You are also able to go to the Owner tab – also in the options menu to enter your personal details. These will subsequently be displayed on screen when the password is up and running

3. My BlackBerry is wet - Accidental damage

Accidents can happen but if you have got your BlackBerry wet do not despair. Try one or all the below before ringing your insurance company

Firstly remove the battery before anything else and leave to dry out. It is also important to remove the plastic casing and if you can refer to your manual and follow the disassembly instructions.

Let the device dry in a warm dry place – dashboard, tv cabinet or in a sealed container with uncooled rice. Leave it for three to five days and then reassemble and replace battery.

4. When you have trouble with your BlackBerry

The 1st Step is to pull the battery out of the device and leave it out for about 30 seconds. This will clear the internal memory and will solve many, many issues. It is the equivalent to turning your pc off and on in a crisis!!


1. Leave your BlackBerry turned on.
2. Remove the battery for 30 seconds
3. When you replace the battery leave it to boot
